Fred Fineour Canal Lock Store

This model of the the Fred Fineour Canal Store was built by Myron Saltsman, a lifelong resident of the Village of Fort Plain and local history enthusiast. Mr. Saltsman built the miniature model store for his good friend Doris Wetterau, a pillar of the Fort Plain Museum and Fred Fineour's great grand-daughter. The model is on loan to the Fort Plain Museum from Doris's survivors. The facade of the original Canal Store, moved to Fort Plain from the New York State Museum, will be reassembled inside Diefendorf Hall at 47 Main Street in Fort Plain.
